Slightly Off-Topic

A simple one-panel today, folks. I believe the reason why will be a bit more obvious on Tuesday, but I think today was a good day to discuss the upcoming live action Cowboy Bebop film. As I’ve mentioned over on LiveJournal, I believe Keanu Reeves is going to make an excellent Spike Spiegel. I realize that this is an immensely unpopular point of view, but the more I think about it, the more he seems to fit the character. Spike has never been a bubbling, font of emotion. He’s always held back and sarcastic, and that’s the sort of thing that Mr. Reeves does well. We already know he can handle the martial arts (as long as they leave the bullet-time effects at home), so what’s the worry? I did find this article while googling about this morning, which may help those of you still in doubt to feel a bit better about the whole situation. Dig the hair on the guy with glasses. There is a joke about having one’s head up a bull’s arse which seems strangely appropriate…
