It was with some sadness that I noted the passing of Kim Jong Il… not for the man, of course… that’s one wackadoo that this world is very much better off without! I mean there’s crazy and then there’s Kim Crazy… and that’s a whole different ballgame.
So no… not for him, but as he died, so to did L’il Kim, and that is a real loss. The News Guy never did get his interview… what’s to happen next?

Never my favorite actress, but a Hollywood icon. The great ones are fading fast, and Kirk Douglas advances to the next round…

Holy crap on a hot tin roof! I stopped counting after the 100th layer on this one… why are the simple ideas always, always the hardest to draw?!?
Interesting times in the world, lately. The Egyptian military dissolved parliament today and said they’d hold the reins for six months or until a civilian government could be elected. Here’s hoping for the Egyptians that the freedom they seek comes to pass…
…and while we’re at it, here’s some hope for the Yemeni people… and the Algerians… and… well, the list goes on…

ALWAYS SAVE YOUR WORK!!! I was almost finished with this when DTE was kind enough to kill the power, and guess who wasn’t saving their work?!? Bad, bad me.
This seems to be a theme with me lately, as I was working on the code for the store last night, and was moving everything in to sections that made more sense with the code, and I managed to delete EVERYTHING. (Did I mention that you should always save your work?). I then started reuploading images, and creating products only to realize at the end that I had uploaded the low res images instead of the proper ones, so once again, I got to delete everything (though on purpose that time). I then started uploading the proper images, but only have four of them associated with products (it’s amazingly time consuming when you are starting from scratch). I will continue to assign the images you can’t see to products over the next day or two.
In the mean time, however, you can pop over to the store and have a look. The current designs are just the first four on the list of image, and aren’t truly representative of the store as a whole (though they are very representative of my daughter’s current Hetalia obsession), but I had to start rebuilding somewhere. It’s set up, so you can click on an image to see what products are associated with them. Printfection has a tremendous amount of shirt styles available, and I’ve activated most of them for each design (because how do I know what people like to wear). I’ve done a number of Printfection shirts, and the quality is always good. The dark shirts are a bit expensive, though. I may look for an alternate vendor for dark-specific designs. (Contest winners: if you see a design pop up over the next day or two that you like, let me know, and I’ll get it sent to you.)
Oh L’il Kim, I see you’re at it again. I’m not sure why you get to constantly fling missles and test semi-nuclear weapons, but L’il Lee can’t play with his ships. It seems unfair.
(For those wondering why there was no contest clue last Sunday or today, it’s because a hard drive crash ate my contest font. I’m in the process of recreating it, and we should be back up and running next week.)
HopeForHaitiNow.Org Help as you can and thanks.
’nuff said.
So, here we are at 300 strips and we are much less self-referential than intended, but what are you going to do? It’s Sunday which means it’s contest time again. Maybe there’s a webcomic out there that’s been working to help Haiti all along. I’d accept their next goal as the Sunday code.
You know, I was beginning to think that L’il Kim had forgotten about us as the North has been relatively quiet of late. I needn’t have worried, of course, as the Kimster is up to his usual shenanigans!
It meant, of course, that I couldn’t simply sleep in and upload the comic meant for Tuesday, of course, but you know me. I luvs to comment on the news. Plus I guess that means that Sunday’s comic is done (unless there is some other news item that tickles my fancy).
Also, I can’t believe that L’il Mahmoud has an Atomic Energy Lab! I’ve wanted one of the A. C. Gilbert kits for years, but they are impossible to find and way too expensive.
…Lucky Mahmoud…
Dear L’il Kim,
I think we at Slightly Off-Topic have been more than fair in dealing with you and your regime. We’ve welcomed you to our home, offered you a recurring role in the strip and The News Guy even offered to interview on his broadcast. Imagine our surprise then as we watched the Daily Show this evening and saw YOU in studio talking to Mr. Stewart. At first we thought that it might have been an impersonator, but at the 2:28 mark, John refers to you as L’il Kim! That’s our thing! How could you? After all this time?
Well, I understand that you’ve got to run your regime as you see fit. I want you to know that I’m not hurt, I’m just disappointed…
