Let’s ignore the weasely way (opposite marriage) she stated her opinion. Let’s ignore the fact that this is America, and she’s free to believe whatever the heck she wants. What I don’t understand is how California can be so upset with her when the entire state got together and voted to ban gay marriage. Pot? Kettle? Black.
Stand up for what you believe in people? If you think it’s wrong that someone who’s against gay marriage should be representing California, then how can it not be wrong to ban gay marriage? Or is it that it’s okay to be against it as long as you don’t state that fact publicly.
I’m just asking…
Dear Miss California,
The next time someone asks you if you support gay marriage, please be aware that there are really only two acceptable answers:
- Yes, I support gay marriage -or-
- No, I do not support gay marriage.
This is America, the land of free speech and freer ideals. You are entitled to believe whatever you believe, but when someone asks you a simple question, please don’t try and cloud the issue by twisting the lingo. I mean really, "opposite marriage"?!? That’s more of a cop out than saying all you want is world peace!
