Greetings! I’m about to collapse and must stumble into bed, but want to make sure that it’s clear that I’m just kidding about the Wil situation (I probably wouldn’t have lifted a picture of him off the web if it wasn’t meant to be funny). Yes, I’m disappointed that he didn’t make it to the con, but when it comes to your health, you have to do what you have to do. Wil says it best, of course. Yes, as a fanboy, I’m disappointed that he didn’t make Penguicon 2.0, and that the Penguicon 3.0 arrangements never lined up and that he’s currently ill, but as a fanboy, I know that someday I’ll get my chance to shake his hand and say thanks for all your work.
…of course, it would be nice if that would happen at Penguicon!
So, no. Our crack commando team did not, in fact, manage to get Wil Wheaton to show up at Penguicon. Go figure. Full con report later. I’m garnering a bunch of interest in Slightly Off-Topic by doing very little, but some of the folks I got to come in for the con are not having as much luck which is a huge disappointment for me. I had hoped to make this great for them, but I don’t think I have.
Regardless, the net connection here is tenuous at best, so I’ll sign off. But before I go, are you guys enjoying Luke’s guest artist month?
You know… Wil Wheaton is the reason I came to my first Penguicon. What can I say, I’m an unashamed fanboy…
