The art’s a little off today as I’m travelling and had to move from the Cintiq to the tabletpc… and it’s been a while (the pen on these things is teeny weeny).
I remember when Walter retired, and thought that that was sad. This, for whatever reason, I didn’t see coming. Score another point for Kirk.
I have it on very good authority that a very angry tortoise has made a special sunday appearance for you folks…

Very nice use of the first and last panel. RIP Walter Cronkite.
Thanks. Brittany keeps asking me what happened in between. I had to explain in the old days they didn’t pause the programming during interupts, and if anything was missed, it was missed.
It’s a nightmare to pause the regular programme! You’d push everything that was scheduled back, and stuff at the end of the day would overlap with stuff from the next day, causing your accursed servers to crash. Either that, or you’d have to pull ads and that’ll only piss off your sponsors, not to mention there’s hell in trying to reinsert the pulled ad elsewhere in your schedule. Ah, for the good old days…
I always thought that’s why late night programming was as bad as it is… so that it could be pulled in case of a delay and no one would care…
