I was in Border’s last night listening to a children’s author speak. She has to deal with ban situations regularly because some of her characters are the gays! Oh my God!
Parents and “concerned” citizens regularly try to get her books banned from schools and libraries because they say the book is still available if they want to buy it, they just don’t think “it’s appropriate” for the public library/schools/whatever.
This, of course, completely neglects the fact that many people can’t afford to buy *every* book they want to read or have access to read it as an ebook.
In a digital age, can they really successfully ban a book? A quick google search will get you what you need. Banfail.
