Those reading this on the LiveJournal mirror already know that I’d decided to go vegetarian for a limited time to perform a little experiment.  I’ve been struggling with gout this year just passing from one attack to the next, so I decided to see what I could do to lower my blood uric acid levels, so I cut out the meat for a few weeks.  I have to say it’s been tremendously successful as the foot pain has vanished entirely (!!) after only a few weeks.  The plan is now to reintroduce meat, but only at the evening meals.  That should be a sufficient limit on my purine intake to keep the acid levels from jumping again.

…and you guys have no idea what pure bliss that first bite of meat was…  Sorry to my veg readers out there, but the carnivore was made happy and the omnivore made whole!
