Ok, is it just me or are your “north” and “south” really “east” and “west”? And the probing of a moon crater would seem to imply a job for TSA, not NASA…
Artistic license with where to put the faces. Equinox is problematic in that the poles are equidistant, so unlike the solstice strip, the placement is not natural as I would have to put the faces pointing up and down to “sell it”. In this case, one should view the faces (and hence the hemispheres) as simply moving closer to or further from that darn harpy Sol and her constant manipulations.
While the TSA normally handles the probing these days, NASA did, none the less, take the time to jam a probe into the poor moons crater to see if they could find water (which they did).
