It was a bit surreal watching entire organizations being taken down due to the error of one single company. Ah well, at least I have the good sense not to allow McAfee on any of my personal computers. They use McAfee at work though. Happily most of my lab equipment runs on Macs…

I always knew svchost.exe was bad news!
Yeah… gotta hate those core windows files. I did, eventually, end up manually fixing the few computers in my labs that were hit. I couldn’t wait for IT to get around to me, and they were swamped!
see? see!? THAT is why I use open-source as much as possible!
unfortunately, I am forced to dual-boot this machine into XP… wouldn’t have this job if it weren’t for Micro$oft and the .NET platform…

I’m an Avast man, myself! I keep windows around for games and Photoshop (gotta have my photoshop!). Otherwise, I live my life in OpenSuse and Ubuntu.
