Okay…. so that’s done…

So, I’ve been playing a lot of Ingress lately… the backstory… I have found it remarkably productive to be outside my lab during the day.  For some reason, people I see regularly in the lab won’t ask questions, discuss concerns, etc while in the lab.  However, if I’m outside the lab walking about, I get stopped… a lot.  So, I taken to taking about an hour outside the lab being visible walking about campus…. usually over lunch… I get a lot done during this time, but started playing Ingress to fill the times in between stops…. campus is covered with portals, after all.

For what amounts to a geocaching game, it’s actually a tremendous amount of fun.  This is because it has a strong social aspect as well as an ample storytelling aspect.  You can play the game while ignoring both of these, but it would grow boring quickly.  Incorporating both of these though… it becomes a hoot.  A hoot, I say!

The game is in open beta now, so no invites are required, so if you have an android advice and some time on your hand, load it up!
