I will admit to being somewhat addicted to Amazon’s Holiday Lightning Deals. The first thing I do when I hit the computer in the morning is to scroll through the days offerings and see what might be right for those on my gift list… and there are some remarkable bargains to be had… and it makes the Christmas shopping sooooo much easier… but then I might have bought one or two items for myself as well…
I think I like the Amazon deals so much because there isn’t really a satisfying shopping situation left for the adult male… Remember when we were kids… well okay… this may only apply to those in their 30’s and beyond, but man, you could go to the mall and they had everything!!! Computer stores, pet stores, doo dads, widgets, clothes and a proper frickin’ arcade. Now? Perfume and clothes mainly… The only two interesting stores in our mall are Williams-Sonoma (I like gadgets) and the Apple store (see previous). The nearest Ham Radio store is in Cleveland… Fry’s is in Indy… Where’s the modern geek to shop?!? Online, I guess…
And I still haven’t warmed to you, Barnes and Noble… I want my Borders back…
Now get off of my lawn…
