Tuesday’s Update

The good news is the laptop power adapter I bought from CompUSA (yes, and actual CompUSA… I thought they were all gone) works fine. I still hope to recover the one I left behind at Penguicon, but I’m good for now. I bought the Targus wall/air/auto adapter by the way.

The bad news is the Dadeland *doesn’t* have wi-fi (welcome to the 90’s Marriot), and the wired connection isn’t working (I’m tethered to my phone at the moment, but it won’t let me send files). The front desk says they’ll have it fixed by the time I return this evening. Here’s hoping.

Yes, another exciting episode of Slightly Off-Topic and the week everything went wrong…

ComicPress Tutorial

Greetings! yes, it’s true. I am an idiot. I came back from Penguicon, collapsed into bed, and got up the next morning to get on a plane. For those of you looking for the tutorial, I apologize. You can either come back on Friday evening (after I’ve returned and posted) or just email me at the thenewsguy (this would be the place to put an at sign) slightlyofftopic dot com, and I will send it to you directly when I return.

We have a saying in the webcomic world that the best way to lose readers is to make a promise and not keep it. While, as far as I know, those of you looking for the tutorial are not my readers (yet), the basic premise holds true. I’m very sorry for the delay.

Greetings! I’m about to collapse and must stumble into bed, but want to make sure that it’s clear that I’m just kidding about the Wil situation (I probably wouldn’t have lifted a picture of him off the web if it wasn’t meant to be funny). Yes, I’m disappointed that he didn’t make it to the con, but when it comes to your health, you have to do what you have to do. Wil says it best, of course. Yes, as a fanboy, I’m disappointed that he didn’t make Penguicon 2.0, and that the Penguicon 3.0 arrangements never lined up and that he’s currently ill, but as a fanboy, I know that someday I’ll get my chance to shake his hand and say thanks for all your work.

…of course, it would be nice if that would happen at Penguicon!
