Okay. Pay attention because I’m only going to say this once. Hard drives are storage devices. They are those spinning things that computers store programs on. When you want me to fix your computer and I ask how much memory you have, I don’t care about your hard drive size. I care about those little bumpy sticks of ram in your computer… the thinking space, not the writing space. Get it? Good!
We all have pet peeves, of course, and this is one of mine. I’m always happy to help you fix your computer, but for God’s sake, at least know your system’s specs. I’m not asking you to become a PC Weenie or anything, but a little effort wouldn’t hurt. And remember, if you don’t know your basic computer specs, I’m installing Linux the moment your back is turned…

lol Very funny! Usually when I have to fix a friend or family member’s computer they don’t even know what a hard drive is. I feel your pain. 🙂
Hard drive and ram are the most frequently mixed up specs in my experience. I wish it would stop.
How about just asking; how much RAM do you have? Memory means different things to different people.
It’s a case of know your audience. Some people will hear the word RAM and know what it means. Those being spoken of in this strip, would not.
