See?!? Just as I promised. Nothing to do with the daily headlines. I happily present part two in our annual three-part look at Michigan Tourism! As always, we just try and fill in the gaps where the billboards and commercials leave off.
Actually, the mosquitoes don’t seem that numerous yet this year. The ones we have are vicious though… They’ll raise a welt in 10 seconds flat! We do have an overabundance of gnats, aphids and other have-nothing-better-to-do-than-buzz-in-your-face-and-chew-up-your-garden pests, though. So many, in fact, I’ve resorted to biological warfare and brought in some Ladybugs to chew their way through the pests… at least the aphids! My roses will thank me… and hopefully my neighbors!

then someone lights a fire in their portable fire “pit” and we all smell like hickory for a month.
In my area we have that problem with people who get excessive with the lighter fluid in their charcoal grills… the stench will drive you out of your homes (if you don’t pass out first).
Of course, I own a smoker, but am very careful to regulate the amount of smoke so as not to “scent” someone’s living room!
Just peeked at your comic. I’m pretty sure my cats are related to Zanna!
yeah we get the lighter fluid problem here in the Detroit area too… but the biggest thing about the lighter fluid guy, is the old simpsons joke, where half the bottle is used.
Thanks for the kind words about my comic!
Glad I started reading Slightly Off-Topic early enough to have seen 1 of 3… I’ll now place this url next to my limited edition Spock plates…
Well, this is the second annual, three-part treatment. The first year, we spoke of the snow. This year, we’re focussing on spring issues (you saw part 1 of this year’s installment a week or so ago), so you’ll see part three on Sunday or Tuesday depending upon how I shuffle things.
…and if you’re going to have commemorative plates, a Spock set is definitely the way to go!
