Okay, we’re going to be doing this backwards today because there be spoilers, so if you’re planning on watching the new Scrubs, don’t read after the contest info.
I was buzzing about the web yesterday and found a new comic that just made me burst out laughing. Milk through the nose laughing. Sure maybe I’m a Star Wars geek, but I think this one is great for anyone (over the age of 13, anyway). I also really love the art. After you find the code, take some time to buzz through the archive. It’s great. Biggs is great!
Okay. You were warned. Stop reading now to avoid spoilers.
What the hell ABC?!?
You know. As Scrubs fans, we weren’t actually looking for that much out of the final season. We really just wanted a few more moments for our friend. We wanted to see JD and Elliot’s relationship swing back from the parody realm, and we wanted to SEE them get married. What the heck is up with the one-year later crap?!? When Elliot found out she was pregnant, we wanted to be there for THAT moment. Don’t know how to hide a real pregnancy? Speak to the folks at ‘How I Met Your Mother’. I believe Sarah Chalke knows them.
The Med School campus thing? It might work if you were actually doing anything with it. However, it just seems to be an excuse to have brought JD back in. We see a few setups in the classes and then it’s back in the hospital. Pick one.
…and please for the love of God, remember that you have characters in scrubs. CHARACTERS not PARODIES. Some years have been put into fleshing each character out beyond a single dimension. Maybe you can make use of that…
…and of all the interns to keep on the show, you choose Uninteresting McColdipants… nice choice…
…and Cole… must go… not funny in any way…
…and the new blonde chick is not going to work as “the new Elliot”… give her a personality of her own…
Actually, I wouldn’t be so annoyed if it was just awful, but there were some genuine laughs in there. Enough to give one hope… but hope is a dangerous thing as it just sets one up for a crushing fall when ABC finally wrecks it…

*****Spoiler Alert!*****
I actually like the direction they’re taking it. It’s no longer about J.D., the focus is now shifting to Lucy. (In this season, J.D. is the new Dr. Cox and Dr. Cox is a nice version of the new Kelso). I guess they could have saved the marriage/pregnancy thing as an on-screen development, though…still, we’ll likely see the baby’s birth, so that’s something.
And yes, Cole is a horribly annoying character…I enjoy seeing him get what’s coming to him, at least.
Yeah, I’m just not sure that a final season is the best time to take a show in a new direction. Perhaps, it’ll go one, but I don’t have high hopes…
See, this is what you get for caring about any medical show that doesn’t star Hugh Laurie… 🙂
I’ve never been able to get into House. Part of it is that I just don’t care for Medical Dramas, but I suspect part of it is because I keep wanting to see him in British Comedies…
