Whether you are for or against Universal Healthcare in America, you have to admit the most striking thing about the debate is that we aren’t actually having one.  I mean sure, our Senators and Representatives are spending the lion’s share of their time ranting on and on about ‘healthcare’, but as far as I can tell, they aren’t discussing anything.  They are saying ‘Republicans are Bad’ and ‘Democrats are Evil’ and ‘Joe Lieberman is an Idiot’ (okay… I’m starting to agree with that one, actually), but otherwise they don’t seem to be doing anything…

It shouldn’t be that hard, should it?  We simply decide if providing healthcare to everyone is a good thing or a bad thing.  Then, if the answer is a good thing, we decide how much we are willing to (and can afford to) pay.  We shouldn’t be standing around screaming about how this person wants to kill Grandma or that person wants your kids to be known as Junior Comrades.

I’m just saying…
