So yeah… well done, McDonald’s… nothing like handing out poisonous stuff to our kids to put in their mouths. Brittany is actually quite pissed as she loves the glasses. I did tell her she could keep them as a planter or something, but she’s still ticked! Interestingly, the fact that the glasses were made in New Jersey rather than China is getting a lot of press. I’d be more interested in hearing where the paint (which is what contains the cadmium, after all) came from.
You should take a moment to read the Recall FAQ, though. They seem to want to make it clear that the glasses are NOT TOXIC. They mention that a LOT…
Jarts…I had jarts and just wasn’t stupid enough to throw them at my brothers eye.
We tended to throw them over the garage to each other… never hit an eye though…
We had Jarts too, and both my sister and I emerged from childhood with no puncture wounds.
