#387 – With Apologies to the Owner of the Maroon Door…
Aug24
True story. I have to admit though, skunks really are beautiful animals. However, they are overabundant here in Southeastern Michigan, so I wouldn’t mind seeing (or at least smelling) a few less of them!
The nephew visit is going well. We decided to play Uno last night. He’d never played it with real cards before… only on the computer. The only problem was due the ‘Heart of the Cards’ being black, bitter and broken, we only played one hand… and it took two freakin’ hours!!! No one could manage to get rid of their cards. We had to reshuffle the discard pile SIX times! That being said, we all had fun and he conked out for the evening as soon as we were done. Today, it’s the hands-on museum. Much fun shall be had by all.
I live in SE Michigan too, and have seen more than my share of skunks. Even worse than a spooked skunk is the one I came across last year. It kept following me, I think it wanted to be my buddy.
That’s just not right!
When we first moved to Michigan, we had a beautiful elder skunk that was determined to live under our porch. The problem, of course, was that she was a very leaky skunk. We used to have to sleep with Vicks under our nose until we finally coaxed her to find a new place!
