Okay… a special Saturday update for a non-strip to close out the boobie talk.  This will be my last mention of the boobies which seem to have been permeating the discussion lately.  This is for a number of reasons:

  1. Showing an IRP trollup in a half-shirt is pushing the boundries of a family-friendly website really close to my comfort limits.  I realize I’m a prude, but there you have it.
  2. I actually appreciate the drawing tips I get from you guys, so I’m not really picking on Chris… just having fun.
  3. Most of you don’t come here to hear boobie talk!

Actually, this particular image came from playing with cel shading rather than the usual black/while soft brush stuff I usually do.  Just a quick and dirty step with… uhm… areas which required shading.   This whole panel took all of 15 minutes to complete (well… actually 5-10 minutes more as I searched for an IRP logo), so not really an in-depth study of the technique, but I do see the promise.  I like the idea of shading with colors rather than just black and white.  I’ll have to try it with some of the upcoming strips, it may be a useful trick.

Normally, This is where I’d complain about cartoonists exaggerated portrayal of women, but I worked at the IRP one summer, and I’m calling this one fair.  It’s a whole other, mostly inebriated, world.

Sunday will, of course, bring the usual proper update, so this will only be on the front page for a day.  Which is probably a good thing!
