Enough with the emails already! Everyone is sending me the email about Circle-K and Petro Express. They are not Venezuelan companies. They are not directly lining the pockets of Hugo Chavez or contributing to the an arsenal which will lead to the overthrow of America. Take a deep breath, everyone!
Now, oil (in general) may lead to the downfall of America. We need to use less of it and get serious about developing alternative fuels. Anything less is wasted effort.
I fully agree that new fuels should be top priority, but these things do take time, and the only viable time-buyer right now is natural gas. I fully realize that natural gas does harm the environment, but obviously at a slow rate, as evidenced by the (uneventful) amount of time between the Industrual Revolution and now. So, we can safely use natural gas until mor “green” fuel sources either produce more or require less “green”
Beyond that, I wouldn’t worry about Venezuela. My little evil organization doesn’t like competition, so I give them maybe another few years or so. Then come the Rocket-Bombs…
Indeed. I can honestly say I’ve never spent any time worrying about Hugo…and it’s good to know that their are people like you out there with Rocket-Bombs. Do you take contract work? 😉
Natural gas is nice. I do feel the need to put out (again…I’m a broken record) that we had workable electric cars ten years ago!!! We could have shifted the oil from our tanks to more efficient systems by now (well…partially…as it takes time to update the grid infrastructure and the electric car of the time was an answer for commuters, not travellers). The Volt that GM showed the other day is an interesting concept…of course, GM has built up zero credit in the Electric Car game…burn me once…
